こんな歌詞を堂々と歌えるアーティストは限られている。
マシンガンのような力強いドラムロールで始まるこの曲は、パティ・スミス９年ぶりの復帰作のオープニング・ナンバー。
ニューヨーク・パンクの女王と呼ばれた７０年代よりもはるかに有機的で慈愛にあふれたその表情。凛と背筋を伸ばして、世界の矛盾に立ち向かうかのような佇まい。引退前の研ぎ澄まされたナイフのような声に比べると、ふくよかで透明感の増したヴォーカル。ポジティヴなメッセージ。まさに暖かな家庭に囲まれた充実した日々の中で製作されたことがうかがえる。しかもそれが長く続かないことを知っているかのような刹那さすらもにじませて。
